A Battery Management System, or BMS, is an electronic setup that oversees rechargeable batteries, especially lithium-ion ones common in everyday devices and larger setups. It acts like a watchful overseer, keeping track of the battery's condition to ensure it runs safely and lasts longer.
Sealed batteries, like those in electric vehicles or energy storage systems, are designed to keep everything inside contained. Air leakage happens when the seal isn't perfect, allowing outside air to slip in or internal gases to escape.
People often lump all lithium-based batteries together, especially when hearing about fires or explosions in news stories.
