How to ship lead-acid batteries? What should be paid attention to?

Lead-acid batteries belong to the eighth category of dangerous goods, transportation requires a license, and export lead-acid batteries must be specially packaged (qualified packaging certificate), otherwise the customs will not pass.

Precautions:

1. Ensure adequate insulation between and around the battery and equipment. Inadequate insulation may cause electric shock, short-circuit heating, smoking or burning.

2. Charge with a charger, directly connecting to the DC power supply may cause the battery to leak, heat or burn.

3. Due to self-discharge, the battery capacity will slowly decrease. Please recharge the battery before using it after prolonged storage.

Information to be provided by the shipper of lead-acid batteries by sea:

1. Booking Form.

2. Entry-exit packaging performance inspection result sheet (copy) and entry-exit dangerous goods transport packaging use identification result sheet (original).

3. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

4. Customs declaration form, Entrust Letter of Customs Declaration, commercial invoice, contract, entrust letter of commodity inspection, packing list, customs clearance form for outbound goods.


Precautions for shipping lead-acid batteries:

1. (MSDS) Note. 1: The Booking Form shall indicate the Chinese and English product name, chemical molecular formula, container type, cargo packaging, and special requirements to facilitate application for space and maritime declaration of dangerous goods. 2: If it involves transshipment, you need to confirm with the shipping company whether there are restrictions on the transit port.

2. Provide maritime declaration materials, pack the goods, affix dangerous labels, supervise and loading and take photos, and send the "Inbound Dangerous Goods Transport Packaging Use Appraisal Result Sheet (original)" and "Packing List" to the shipping company 3 working days in advance.

3. When packing, the dangerous goods signs (25cm*25cm) and UN NO (30cm*12cm) should be affixed around the container.

4. Photo requirements: 1 photo for empty container; 1 photo for half container; 1 photo for finished; 1 photo for reinforced; 1 photo for half-closed door (with container number and goods); 1 photo for closed door (photo taken at a 45-degree angle) , there must be a dangerous sign); 1 photo for rear.


Note: 1. The declaration form for safe transport of dangerous goods is in triplicate, two of which are retained by the declarer and distributed to the carrier, and one is retained by the competent authority for inspection. 2. The packing certificate of dangerous goods for container shipment shall be in duplicate, one shall be submitted to the Maritime Safety Administration and the other shall be given to the carrier.

Provide materials related to export declaration 3 days in advance:

1. Verification form; 2. Commercial Invoice; 3. Packing list; 4. Entrust Letter of Customs Declaration; 5. Customs declaration form; 6. Contract, etc. for customs declaration.
